Landesbank Berlin

Recentralization of the IT infrastructure was carried out with the aim of introducing a company wide standardized workplace and reducing decentralized resources and so achieve significant cost savings for IT operations. msg systems ag provided all the services for the infrastructure project, which spanned some 10000 workplaces and 300 servers – from infrastructure consulting through project management, implementation and programming to support and operating support. The new infrastructure, which uses Citrix PS 4.0, Windows Server 2003, enteo NetInstall and NetIQ Appmanager solutions, operates cost efficiently and, additionally, provides the option of charging for IT services according to the costs-by-cause principle.


msg systems undertook the recentralization of the IT infrastructure with approx. 45000 workplaces and 1500 servers. The goal: to optimize provision of banking-specific applications for Sparkassen banks in North and East Germany, thus reducing long term costs for IT operations. The design, implementation and programming of the new infrastructure was carried out after in-depth infrastructure consultancy and cost analysis including TCO and ROI calculations. Solutions used included Citrix, enteo and NetIQ systems as well as Windows Server 2003. msg systems also guaranteed smooth operations and support.

AOK Niedersachsen & Bremen health and insurance company

The AOK carried out technical consolidation of all workplaces in the federal states of Lower Saxony and Bremen to increase the efficiency of business processes and reduce IT costs by means of centralized holding and storage of all data and services. msg systems ag was commissioned to develop a mixed infrastructure for both home-based employees and in-house personnel. Following a detailed infrastructure analysis msg systems recommended using Windows Server 2003 in combination with Citrix PS 4.0, ThinPrint and enteo NetInstall and carried out the servicing, maintenance and support for the new IT landscape with some 6500 workplaces and 150 servers.


msg systems was commissioned to carry out the technical migration of the individual companies within the group, thus harmonizing the IT infrastructure. A central Active Directory and Exchange 2003 were implemented as a standardized mail system, in parallel to the migration of NT4 and Windows 2000/Novell to Windows 2003. msg systems provided consulting services for the Microsoft infrastructure project, which encompassed over 40000 workplaces at more than 100 locations; carried out the project management, implementation and roll-out; and delivered ongoing support.

Hannover Rück

msg systems regularly carries out a health check for the insurance applications server farm to pro-actively prevent disruptions and minimize systems susceptibility. To this end the performance and efficiency of the existing IT infrastructure is systematically examined and, where necessary, process optimization measures are initiated.

Munich International Trade Fairs (Messe München)

A high number of passwords and correspondingly high costs for administration and support required log-in optimization. msg systems analyzed the scripts and command structures of the IT systems and implemented a single sign-on solution using the Citrix Password Manager. In addition, a self-service portal was set up for password resetting. The new single sign-on solution for some 1000 users realized significant savings in IT operating costs.
